Privacy
How the bees website and app handle your data.
This is a placeholder. The full privacy policy is being written and will replace this page before paid plans open.
The short version
- The bees app runs on your computer. Your code, beads, sessions and explainers stay on your machine and are not sent to us.
- Agents run on your own Claude Code account; what they send to Anthropic is governed by your agreement with Anthropic.
- Downloads need no account. You never have to sign in to use this site or the app.
- This website runs no tracking or analytics scripts and sets no tracking cookies.
When you download bees
We count each download so we know which builds people use. For each one we record the version, operating system and processor type, the file, the time and, when our hosting tells us, the country. We do not record your IP address and we set no cookie. If you happen to be signed in, the download is also linked to your account.
If you make an account
An account is optional. You sign in with Google or GitHub through Google's Firebase Authentication; we never see your password. We store your email address, your name as Google or GitHub gives it, which of the two you used, when you joined and last signed in, and your plan (Free). Later, if you turn them on, an account will also hold the settings you sync between your machines and your Pro subscription.
While you are signed in, the site keeps two cookies: a session cookie that proves it is you, and a small flag so pages can show "Account" instead of "Sign in". They last up to 14 days, or until you sign out. They are the only cookies this site sets.
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. That deletes everything stored with it and takes your account off past download counts.
If you leave your email
If you join a waitlist, the supporter list or send a sponsorship enquiry, we keep your email (and any note) to contact you about that, and nothing else.
Elsewhere on this site
Your light or dark choice is remembered in your own browser only. Pages are served by Google Cloud, which keeps standard request logs for operating the service.
