Requirements

  • Claude Code with a Claude subscription (Pro or Max) or API access. bees runs Claude Code for you but doesn't come with it.
  • beads (bd), the issue tracker your agents work from. Install beads.
  • git. Swarms use worktrees and branches.
  • Optional: ffmpeg for audio and video explainers, Tailscale for the phone app, Ghostty for terminals outside the app.

Get started

On a Mac, unzip the app into Applications and open it; it installs the bees command for you. On Linux, unpack the archive and put bees on your PATH. Then point it at your projects:

$ bees discover ~/code
$ bees setup claude
$ bees doctor

For the CLI alone on a Mac, do the same with the macOS archive. Checksums: checksums-app.txt, checksums.txt.

Free, with no account and no sign-in. We count downloads (version, OS and country, nothing that identifies you). bees updates itself once installed.
